Dr. Monika Singh, a graduate of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in New York, is the latest member of our team. She received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York, where she also completed her residency training. She has performed numerous procedures in comprehensive ophthalmology, including excision of eyelid lesions, cataract surgery, glaucoma and retinal lasers.
She has been named to both the Dean's and the Chancellor's list, and was awarded for Excellence in Ophthalmology. She has held many leadership positions in her career.
A recipient of the prestigious "Distinction in Research" degree from SUNY Downstate, she has done extensive research on glaucoma and published findings regarding eye pressure fluctuations and body positioning. Further, in her training, she has researched sleep apnea and its relation to eye disease and mood disorders.
Dr. Singh has a particular interest in the treatment of allergic and dry eye disease, and the management of eyelid lesions.
Dr. Singh is currently a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Brooklyn Ophthalmological Society, Women in Ophthalmology and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. Singh grew up in Queens, New York, and has spent several years in both private practice, as well as hospital based practice at Mt. Sinai St Lukes Hospital. She has recently relocated to Massachusetts, and is enjoying being here with her husband and daughter. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, and Spanish.
