Elias Reichel, M.D.
Dr. Reichel earned a medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He completed his residency at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary and fellowships in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at the New England Eye Center; Electrophysiology and Molecular Genetics at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary; and genetics at Children's Hospital, all in Boston, MA. Dr. Reichel is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA.
Dr. Reichel's areas of expertise include both medical and surgical vitreoretinal disorders. His surgical interests include surgery for macular disorders, retinal detachment, and trauma of the posterior segment. He has a special interest in hereditary retinal degenerations, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
