Paulette Turco, O.D., F.A.A.O. received her B.A. in Biology from Regis College in 1973 and her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in 1977. Dr. Turco is a fellow and diplomat in Low Vision of the American Academy of Optometry. She is also a member of the American Optometrist Association, Low Vision Section. Throughout her career, she has held faculty positions in the Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and the New England College of Optometry and adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Rehabilitative Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Education.
Dr. Turco has presented papers and lectures at national and international professional meetings and has published in peer review journals in Low Vision Rehabilitation, her area of interest. She has been with Tallman Eye Associates since 1980. She performs complete optometric examinations and Low Vision Rehabilitation evaluations at Tallman Eye Associates. Dr. Turco is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a TPA Certified Optometrist indicating that she is fully licensed and can prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents.
When not working, Dr. Turco enjoys travel, reading, writing, Pilates and walking. She has two grown sons, the first a recent law school graduate and the second in law school. She has recently become a Grandmother. She has a particular interest to establish Low Vision Rehabilitation services internationally.
